Benefits of Gajar ka halva
The most important and basic ingredient in making gajar ka
halva is carrots which are loaded with vitamins A, D, and fiber. The vitamin D
in carrots helps in flushing out toxins from the body. Carrots also help to
improve vision. the best part about it is it tastes delicious not just hot but also
cold. Also, the dry fruits are not just to make it look appealing but also adds
a nutritious value to it. Here is a delicious and simple recipe for gajar ka halva.
Ingredients
- Carrots - 1/2 kg
- Ghee - 2-3 tbsp
- Milk - 2 cups
- Cream - 1/2 cup
- Sugar - 3/4 cup
- Green cardamom - 1 tsp
- Cashew, Almonds, Raisins - for garnish
Method
- Heat a kadhai or non-stick pan.
- Add ghee and grated carrots and sauté for 5 mins. Add milk and let it cook for some time.
- When the milk starts to evaporating add cream and saute again. Now add sugar and mix well.
- Let it cook for some more time till it becomes semi-dry.
- Add green cardamom powder and mix it well.
- Now garnish with some dry fruits and it's ready to serve.
- Serve hot or at room temperature as per your choice.
