Benefits of Kothimbir Vadi
We all know that kothimbir (Coriander) is an essential ingredient in a lot of Indian dishes not just for garnishing but also for flavor. Coriander is not just a garnishing ingredient but also has a lot of health benefits. The most important benefit is it helps for digestion and lowers blood sugar levels. Coriander lowers bad cholesterol (LDL) and raises good cholesterol (HDL). It is a great source of dietary fiber, iron, and magnesium. Coriander is also used in the detox diet. It can also be used to make different snacks not just healthy but also tasty. Here is a snack recipe for kothimbir vadi which can be made easily as all of the ingredients are easily available at our home.
Ingredients
- Kothimbir (Coriander) - 3 cups
- Besan (Gram flour) - 2 cups
- Rice flour - 1 & 1/2 cup
- Til (Sesame) seeds - 1 tbsp
- Ajwain - 1 tsp
- Haldi powder - 1/2 tsp
- Dhaniya Jeera powder - 2 tsp
- Oil - 2 tsp
- Red chilly powder - 1 & 1/2 tsp
- Ginger Garlic and Green chilly paste - 3 tsp
- Oil for frying
- Salt to taste
Method
- Mix all the ingredients and make a dough.
- Grease a flat dish with oil and spread the dough and steam it for 15-20 minutes.
- Let it cool and then cut into pieces.
- Deep or shallow fry the pieces as per your choice
- Enjoy it with your favorite chutney.
