Paneer chilli is an Indo-Chinese dish which is loved by Indians. It is the perfect starter for vegetarian lovers. There are 2 versions of paneer chilli which is dry and gravy based. It is hot, spicy and loaded with flavours. If you think it is difficult to make a restaurant-style paneer chilli at home, then you are wrong. I am sharing a simple recipe which I use to make restaurant-style paneer chilli at home.
Ingredients
- Paneer - 250 grams
- Capsicum (Red, Yellow, Green) - 1 each
- Onion - 2
- Garlic, Ginger, Green chilly (finely chopped) - 2 tbsp
- Green chilly sauce - 1 tsp
- Red chilly sauce - 1 tsp
- Soya sauce - 2 tsp
- Maida(Refined flour) - 2 tbsp
- Cornflour - 3 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
Method
- Cut paneer into small cubes.
- In a bowl, add maida, cornflour, salt and mix it together with water.
- Add the cubes of paneer and marinate it well. Keep it aside for 10-15 minutes.
- In a kadhai, take oil and deep fry those marinated cubes of paneer. Make sure they are crispy and golden.
- Remove them from the kadhi and place them onto a tissue paper to absorb the extra oil.
- Now cut square pieces of capsicum and onion.
- In a deep fry pan take 3 tbsp of oil from the kadhai which was used for frying paneer.
- Add finely chopped green chillies, garlic and ginger and saute them. Now add the onions and saute it till it is cooked. Make sure not to make them brown.
- Now add the coloured capsicum and stir fry them.
- Add some salt and all the sauces and stir it properly.
- In a bowl, take 1 tbsp cornflour and mix it well with water and add it into the mixture.
- Now add the paneer cubes and mix it till all the paneer cubes are completely coated.
- Stir it for 2 minutes and serve it hot.
