The smooth and creamy texture of Shahi paneer makes it a perfect dish for lunch for our vegetarian lovers. Here is a restaurant-style Shahi paneer recipe that can be easily made at home.
Ingredients
- Paneer - 200grams
- Onions - 2
- Tomato - 3
- Ginger - 1/2 inch
- Garlic - 6-7
- Melon seeds - 2-3 tsp
- Dhaniya powder - 1 tsp
- Haldi (Turmeric) - 1 tsp
- Jeera (Cumin) powder - 1 tsp
- Red chilli powder - 2 tsp
- Kashmiri chilli powder - 2 tsp
- Kitchen king masala - 2 tsp
- Garam masala - 1 tsp
- Kasuri methi - 1 tsp
- Black pepper - 1 tsp
- Dalchini (Cinnamon) - 1
- Tej Patta (Bay leaf) - 1
- Salt - to taste
- Sugar - 1 tsp
- Oil - 3-4 tsp
- Butter - 2 tsp
- Cream - 1 tbsp
Method
- Take a kadhai and add oil. A few minutes later add finely chopped onion, tomato, ginger, and garlic.
- Mix it well then start adding melon seeds, tej patta, dalchini and saute till the onions become reddish brown and tomatoes become mushy(soft). Add some water while it is roasting.
- Make a paste of the roasted mixture and pass through a sieve till you get a smooth paste.
- In a kadhai add 2-3 spoons of oil and then butter. Now add the smooth paste and saute it. Add all the spices and mix it well.
- Now add some cream to the mixture. Cut rectangular dices of the paneer and add them to the mixture.
- Close the lid till it is cooked.
- Shahi paneer is ready and you can serve it with paratha or roti.
